All Ears at Child’s Voice: A Hearing Loss Podcast features staff of Child’s Voice sharing information, support, and interviews to support families of children with hearing loss.

Child’s Voice helps children with hearing loss learn to listen and speak. Students wear hearing aids and/or cochlear implants and programs use a child-focused, research-based curriculum, all with the end goal of transitioning graduates back to their neighborhood schools. This year, Child’s Voice has supported nearly 400 children and their families. Students range in age from just a few days old through the age of 8.

“Child’s Voice programs focus on providing services to children with hearing loss and connecting parents of these children. This happens parent-to-parent as well as with the professionals sharing the services,” said Jessica Brock, Child’s Voice Early Intervention Specialist and co-creator of the Podcast. “One of the incredible things about podcasts is the community of listeners often created, which can expand the support network for our families even further.”

The topics covered will appeal to parents of children with hearing loss, professionals who work with children with hearing loss, and many others that interact with children who are deaf, including but not limited to grandparents, aunts, uncles, babysitters, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, other therapists and those interested in learning more.

Topics include cochlear implants, both a parent and professional perspective, the art of making friends, and self-advocacy skills. Some episodes also deal with topics that could appeal to parents of children with hearing such as behavior, sibling engagement, language development, and more.
