What Is Speech Clinic?

Child’s Voice utilizes a listening and spoken language approach for its Speech Clinic Services. We provide speech and aural (re)habilitation services for children with hearing loss in the community. These students may attend special education programs in their school districts or may be in mainstream settings.

Our Services

Independent Evaluations for Speech and Language

    • Prior to receiving speech and language therapy we must have a copy of a recent evaluation or we must conduct one.
    • Parents can have an independent evaluation to compare to the one provided by their school district

Speech and/or Aural (Re)Habilitation Therapy Sessions include:

  • Guiding and coaching caregivers to utilize strategies to teach their child with hearing loss to listen and talk.
  • Collaborating with caregivers in providing an individualized program that best meets their child’s needs.
  • Building listening skills for children who have had a progressive hearing loss and have received new hearing technology.

Speech Clinic Services also support parents and caregivers by:

  • Collaborating with other school professionals, audiologists, and private therapists to maximize a child’s outcomes.
  • Supporting caregivers at IEP meetings and advocating for appropriate educational services for the student.
  • Helping families find resources in the community for other special needs that their child may have.
  • Conducting standardized and/or criterion-referenced assessments to monitor a child’s progress in communication development.

Keep Talking…Kids Are Listening!

Constant exposure to language is the key to children with hearing loss learning to speak – and make up for the time that they were not able to hear.

We accept a variety of public and private insurances. Prior authorization for services is often required. Sessions can be conducted in-person or via teletherapy.
