CHILD’S VOICE ANNOUNCES LAURIE MCMAHON AS 2018 VOICE FROM THE HEART HONOREE
Child’s Voice has selected Laurie McMahon as the 2018 Voice from the Heart Honoree, an award that will be shared at the November 3, 2018 Child’s Voice Autumn Gala. The Gala raises funds to support Child’s Voice programs that benefit students with hearing loss and their families. The Gala will be held at the Westin Lombard. This award will be presented at this year’s Gala along with speeches from Child’s Voice alumni.
“Laurie has been a member of the Child’s Voice family for nearly 22 years,” shared Dr. Michele Wilkins, Executive Director of Child’s Voice. “She has guided her son through our Programs, and encouraged his involvement and participation since his graduation at the age of 6. Laurie has remained loyal to the mission of Child’s Voice, serving as a Board member, committee member, and dedicated supporter of the students at Child’s Voice. We are thrilled to honor her with the Voice from the Heart Award.”
Introduced in 2016, the Voice from the Heart Award recognizes an individual that has given exemplary and dedicated service to Child’s Voice. One who has impacted the organization, but more importantly, the children and families of Child’s Voice. Past honorees include Mike Walters and Mark Levy.
Laurie is a longtime resident of Hinsdale and has been active with the DuPage Foundation, Hinsdale Caucus, Hinsdale Plan Commission, Boy Scouts, and Union Church of Hinsdale. She worked at Northern Trust in Investor Relations and holds degrees from both Notre Dame and Northwestern Universities.
Tickets and sponsorship opportunities for the Autumn Gala will be available in summer of 2018. For more information on Child’s Voice or the Autumn Gala, please visit www.ChildsVoice.org or call (630) 595-8200.
