Thankful and Joyful

Holiday preparations are in full swing at Child’s Voice! Our staff takes every opportunity to build language rich experiences around celebrations, and these winter holidays are no exception.  Our students will participate in our annual Thanksgiving Feast on Nov. 22 which is so fun. They are also getting ready for our annual Winter Festival that takes places right before winter break. The Winter Festival gives a fun opportunity for the students to showcase their acting and musical skills, it is fantastic!

Our youngest learners, our EI babies and toddlers, are having fun in our Toddler group and in their home based sessions with our super star team of therapists. Our EI Team is gearing up to brave traveling in the Illinois winter so that we can continue serve our families.

Another fun aspect of this season is giving, which can happen in so many ways. The obvious way is by giving gifts to our children and families. One of the questions I was often asked by families who I worked with in EI was about the types of toys families should buy to promote language development. If you have this same question, here are some fun resources to give you some shopping ideas for language and literacy development:

As you consider your holiday giving, I hope you think of Child’s Voice too. The more we receive at Child’s Voice, the more we can give back to our families, our students, our staff, and our programs so I think you in advance for thinking of us. Visit this link to give a gift this season.

Please stay as safe and healthy as possible during this next month! We are working hard on teaching good hand washing and hygiene as well as providing supplemental healthy food options for our students.

I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving, however you celebrate. I am truly thankful for what Child’s Voice has brought to my life and I will be thinking of this as I celebrate with my family.
