Dear Families,

We all need to be commended for our dedication to staying well and protecting our families, students and each other. Thank you!  However…

The school was notified on Friday, Nov. 13 of a positive COVID-19 situation. We spoke right away to the DuPage Health Department. After sharing the situation details, they stated there was low to no risk of any kind of transmission here in the school. That was excellent news.

With the Thanksgiving holiday and winter break right around the corner, however, Child’s Voice is taking a proactive step in keeping everyone safe. Child’s Voice will start remote learning beginning Wednesday November 18, 2020. Monday and Tuesday, November 16-17 will be nonattendance days for students. Teaching staff and teaching assistants will have E-Learning planning days.

Audiology will remain open.

Both Early Intervention Toddler Program and the School Program will be remote until January 19, 2021. I will contact you if we need to change that date.

This decision to go remote until January 19, was not made lightly. I am proud of our staff. They give 110% to your child and to the mission of Child’s Voice. They are also concerned and worried as the Illinois COVID numbers double and triple. Child’s Voice can only provide the quality education we do because of our staff. If we do not have the staff to teach, we cannot continue. I must think of keeping them all safe and well too.

Let us be constantly reminded that, far from being a given, our ability to function in the best interests of our children is reliant upon each and every one of us doing the right thing in the face of a highly contagious virus for which there is presently no treatment.

We are in this together!

Please enjoy your family this holiday season and stay well.

Dr. Michele
