Child’s Voice Alumna receives Scholarship

Class of 2014 Graduate, Tessa, was recently awarded one of four scholarships through the U.S. Figure Skating Association’s RISE Essay Contest.  The contest provides an opportunity for younger skaters (pre-preliminary, preliminary, pre-juvenile and juvenile) to connect with the history of U.S. Figure Skating and receive financial assistance.

Each applicant watched RISE, a movie about the tragic plane crash of the 1961 World Team, and wrote an essay about the impact the movie had on them.  Tessa was among 130 applicants, and was only one of four youth selected to win a monetary scholarship.  To read Tessa’s essay, please Click Here.  We are so proud of Tessa and all of her accomplishments.  We definitely think we will see her skating a clean singles program someday very soon!

Tessa is in fourth grade and in her first full season of competition.  Congratulations, Tessa!
