Literacy is About Reading All the Time!

Literacy and reading is a significant focus for everyone at Child’s Voice. Staff  constantly asks how reading could be brought into speech activities, language activities, experiences, etc. While this frequently involves books, it doesn’t always! And it doesn’t always have to!

Children at Child’s Voice can be seen reading the directions to various activities, reading information found on classroom posters, reading information found on classroom media (smartboards, iPads), etc. Reading and literacy are part of all activities from behavior to even discussions at lunch and on the playground!
